**This position can sit at either our Vergennes, VT or Cheshire, CT site**
As a key member of the Financial Controls, Planning and Analysis team, the Government Compliance Manager will report directly to the SIS Controller and will oversee the overall Government Compliance requirements within the SIS. The position will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all Government Compliance related activities.
This will include direct responsibility for ensuring:
Policy and procedures within SIS comply with DFARS and Cost Accounting Standards and sufficient controls are in place to ensure compliance. Oversee all SIS Business Systems compliance reviews and conduct internal reviews as needed to ensure compliance.
Help ensure the SIS sites understand and comply with Government Reporting / DCAA requirements including Forward Pricing, Incurred Cost Submissions and other required communications.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with SIS Leadership and DCAA / DCMA to ensure appropriate business relationships.
Provide senior management with advice on the financial implications of business activities related to Government Contracting.
Conduct site reviews and audit to ensure control are in place and adhere to all required Government Compliance initiatives.
Coordinate with the UTAS Government Finance and Controls to proactively meet all Internal requirements with regard to Compliance.
Qualification: 10+ years in progressively responsible roles within Aerospace and Defense Industry with strong Government Contracting experience.
PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) including a strong working knowledge of EXCEL and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Strong team building, people management and people development skills
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or accounting. MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
