Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.
Relocation in the form of a transportation allowance will be provided for eligible candidates.
The Intern of Master Data & Data Quality will be responsible for various business projects within Commercial Information Management. This position will assist the Customer Master Lead and the Data Quality Lead with project management, business analysis, and technical assessments for integrating customer data within the Amgen Compliance Healthcare Reporting system (HCR) and REMS program vendor. This position will aid in maintaining USBO's data integrity and communicates data-related issues and updates/changes to clients, and execute business strategy into actionable tasks/projects for IS technical teams in regards to customer data and system production/development processes.
Responsibilities include:
Providing support for customer data quality and administration in support of Commercial Information Management
Drafting and updating detailed project plans for small projects or portions of larger projects
Assisting in testing, maintaining, and documenting components of business processes to support information systems applications
Assisting in concisely documenting data and business requirements
Performing analysis for production support of systems and applications and creating associated documentation
Following standard policies and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
Gaining an understanding of basic business processes
Analyzing business flow and processes for implementation
Supporting data quality within the Commercial Core System landscape
Assists through facilitation, elicits and articulates associated data, business and functional requirements
Participating in and coordinating any ad-hoc data projects
Contributing to the completion of department and team goals associated with specific projects or activities within the department and across USCO
Providing back-up support of Healthcare Organization Customer Manager
Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a MBA program for a MBA internship OR a Master's program for a Masters internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university
Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
Degree concentration(s) in Information Technology, or Computer Engineering
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent problem solving skills
Experience with supporting cross-functional team initiatives
Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
Proven ability to develop and manage project management plans
Ability to communicate and collaborate with other professionals and management staff
Demonstrated ability to effectively produce business results
