Come and join our 2018 HCA Nurse Residency Program!

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center has 133-beds and all rooms are private and provide a wide range of in- and outpatient services, including 24-hour emergency care, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, cardiac catheterization and psychiatric care. Located on a 75-acre campus south of Fredericksburg on Interstate 95, the hospital recently won state approval to build a cancer treatment center.

HCA Nurse Residency Program (Medical Surgical)

StaRN Program (12 weeks total):
  • The StaRN Program is primarily designed to provide the graduate nurse with the tools necessary to succeed in today's hospital environment.
  • It will help you transition out of the classroom setting onto the unit by providing you with the following training:
  • 5 weeks classroom, self-study, skills & simulations
  • 7 weeks preceptorship in the Med/Surg
  • Certification achieved: ECG, TeamSTEPPS, BLS/ACLS, CPI
After StaRN you will transition to our Professional Development Program :
  • 9 month program factored into your full time position in the Med/Surg Dept
  • Obtain Charge Nurse and Preceptor skills
  • Partnered with a mentor to complete an evidence based Capstone Project (4 hours a month)
  • Your project could get reviewed by corporate for further recognition
Additional Information about our Medical Surgical Unit:
  • 20 Bed Med/Surg
  • 12 Bed Ortho
  • Oncology patients, among others, are seen on this unit

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school within the past 6 months. BSN graduate preferred
  • Applicants can apply and be offered a position prior to passing the NCLEX exam
  • Applicants should not have acute care / hospital RN experience
  • Previous nursing support or service industry experience preferred
  • Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
