Job Description
Amgen's MBA Internship in the Business Development function will work closely with various business development deal teams supporting, analyzing and executing transactions designed to meet Amgen's strategic objectives. Responsibilities will include:

Liaising and working closely with senior levels;
Analyzing competitive landscapes for therapeutic areas to develop potential targets;
Building financial valuation and transaction models;
Performing scenario analysis to assess economic impact;
Assisting in running transaction processes;
Preparing materials for internal governance and cross-functional team meeting; and
Supporting negotiations and deal structuring

Interns are given access to senior leadership through a series of lunches and are encouraged to spend the summer participating in program activities and networking with staff across the organization. Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates.

Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a MBA program for a MBA internship OR a Master's program for a Masters internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university

Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications
In process of completing the first year of a Master of Business Administration program
Three or more years of related work experience
Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or health care industry experience
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact well with all levels of management
Strong leadership ability and a team player
