The GTS Manager, Capacity & Intake is responsible for:
  • Operational aspects of automated workload provisioning and the capacity considerations in a virtualized environment.
  • Responsible for the proactive enabling and management of capabilities that include dynamic move of workloads based on plan, forecast, real-time performance and utilization. 
  • Partner with the Global Command Center and Service Operations Leadership where appropriate to ensure the effective use of technical resources by leveraging such techniques as reclaiming underutilized capacity and/or unused workloads.
  • Play a key role in interfacing back to the SDDC Core Infrastructure Development Team to ensure the provisioning processes are optimized and leveraging continuous improvement techniques enhance workload capabilities.
  • Be a key advisor to application owners and other Enterprise IT stakeholders; providing sizing and scale guidance for optimal workload configuration/performance.
  • Key staff member that owns defined functions/sub functions for the SDDC Core Infrastructure activities according to defined shift schedules – current split model based on two, twelve hour shifts (1x12 NA, 1x12 ASPAC for Global Operational Coverage).
  • Ownership of workload provisioning end-to-end – inclusive of technical activities.  Includes vendor management where appropriate.
  • Ensuring SDDC PODs and legacy compute/storage are operating based on target SLAs; working with customers to ensure all workflows are documented and continually updated
  • Meeting all defined operational metrics/targets/SLA/SLO/etc for area
  • Proactive monitoring, reporting and management of the utilization of SDDC Core Infrastructure
  • Develop and operationalize core capacity metrics to enable right sizing and future POD expansions
  • Work closely with key SDDC Core Infrastructure leads to monitor and support consumption of services and align with demand management to understand upcoming major initiatives
  • Manage and coordinate resource reclamation and optimization of virtual machine consumption with stakeholders
  • Work closely with SDDC Core Infrastructure Development teams to establish automated policy driven capacity management processes and procedures
  • Partner with all SDDC Core Infrastructure Teams to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues, action plans for provided feedback and delivery of agreed upon enhancements to address issues/feedback
  • Continuously monitor and improve all facets (people, process, technology) of the capacity and intake lifecycle – including provisioning
  • This is a Global Operations role; the ability, willingness and commitment to successfully delivering strategic objectives in unpredictable situations is a must – including but not limited to “off hour” working requirements, inclusive of nights, weekends and holidays.  This is a Global Leadership position that is always “on”.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • A Post Graduate Degree is preferred.

  • At least 6 years of infrastructure experience in an engineering and / or operations capacity
  • At least 2 years of experience in installing, configuring and administering Tidal
  • Consulting background preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with VMware virtualization, vCloud suite
  • Strong technical background and experience in virtualization, network and other technologies is required.
  • Prior experience in supporting global operations and following Enterprise level process frameworks
  • Self-starter with strong teamwork abilities and customer service skills is required.
  • Experience in working in a DevOps or Scrum methodology is preferred.
  • This position requires 10% to 20% travel.
  • This position is required to be based in Raritan, NJ.
