Job Description The Head of Data Protection & Cloud Security oversees the development of a new and specialized team of technology risk management professionals who are accountable for creating and overseeing the enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Cloud Security strategy for TD Bank globally. The Head of Data Protection & Cloud Security will support the Global Head of Technology Risk Management and Information Security (TRMIS), Line of Business Chief Information Officers, the Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Risk Officers to develop and deliver leading Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program and Cloud Security programs. Job Requirements Provides strategic direction and leadership to build and oversee a team of professionals to create and deliver leading DLP and Cloud Security programs working with the Chief Privacy Officer, IT Executive Management and line of business leadership.
Manages the executive communications and reporting of the DLP and Cloud Security programs, risks, incidents and threats for the enterprise. Communication is both within TRMIS and across the Enterprise and will deal with multiple senior technology executives and lead technology risk professionals.
Participates in key CIO & TRMIS executive planning and strategy meetings.
Develops and oversees the deployment of DLP and Cloud Security programs across TD Bank focusing on standards, processes & tools around:
o Data Classification
o Data end point & egress controls
o Data in transit protection
o Data at rest protection
o Abuse case development and monitoring
o Oversight and measurement of control efficacy and performance
o Owns relationship with COLA on technology implementation of Privacy controls
o Technology Insider threat strategies
o Cloud Security strategies
• Keeps abreast of data and cloud security trends and the emerging threat landscape related to TD businesses and corresponding environments where our data flows.
Develops & implements a security awareness & stakeholder training on data protection for IT and the business.
Acts as TD Bank's primary expert on Data Protection and Cloud Security and serves as the primary liaison to senior/executive management, internal/external audit and TD's regulators. Qualifications University Degree. MBA, CISSP, CISM, or CRISC
10+ years of experience in IT security, frameworks, policies, standards, regulatory, audit and technology risk disciplines and practices
Demonstrated track record of managing DLP and Cloud Security programs at a large company
Background in engineering preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills especially at an executive level
Experience in a high transaction, large/ complex/ matrix business environment ideally within Financial Services
Ability to articulate technology risk and risk management principles
Possesses exceptional strategic thinking, planning and relationship skills
Ability to influence management and build credibility across the organization
A collaborative and engaging leader who partners well with others
Knowledge of the technology risk and regulatory environment in Canada and the U.S.
A strong leader in talent management, with the ability to develop staff, recruits appropriate talent, and create a culture of performance.
Managers, other than those who serve as Executive/Senior Level Officials and Managers, including those who oversee and direct the delivery of products, services or functions at group, regional or divisional levels of organizations.
Receive directions from the Executive/Senior Level management and typically lead major business units.
Implement policies, programs and directives of executive/senior management through subordinate managers and within the parameters set by management.
Serve at functional, line of business segment or branch levels and are responsible for directing and executing the day-to-day operational objectives of the Company, conveying the directions of higher level officials and managers to subordinate personnel and, in some instances, directly supervising the activities of exempt and non-exempt personnel.
Includes those who report directly to middle managers.
