Johnson & Johnson Health and Wellness Solutions, is recruiting for a Technical Manager for Digital Platform Operations, located in Central New Jersey.


Johnson & Johnson Health and Wellness Solutions (JJHWS) is a center of excellence for the Pharmaceutical, MD&D and Consumer sectors, focused on behavioral science, healthcare consumer engagement, healthcare analytics, and a common digital/IT platform.


JJHWS partners closely with the Johnson & Johnson Strategic Customer Groups, the Consumer Retail team, the Global Strategic Marketing teams and regional brand teams to develop offerings to payer, provider and retail customers.


The Platform Operations Manager will serve as the Team Leader for JJHWS Technical Operations (TechOps) and is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day integrity and service of the SaaS/PaaS infrastructure and assets (digital customer-facing product) supporting all of our internal and external customer services.  Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Operations, this individual is responsible for supervising the activities of a team of system administrators and technologists, providing 24/7/365 service availability within a healthcare-compliant set of solutions.  This individual works collaboratively with the entire JJHWS product team (architecture, development, QA, CM, support, compliance), IT Shared Services, technology SMEs, and business partners across J&J.  This individual works closely with Operations management to ensure proper change management practices, including proper communication to customers, vendors and internal teams.  The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a team player, able to manage multiple activities with competing priorities, and has web infrastructure and operations experience working within a highly matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising, coordinating, and tracking the day-to-day activities of the Tech Ops team (system administrators and technologists that support the JJHWS hosting platforms)
  • Day to day governance of the JJHWS managed or co-managed environments.
  • Ensuring platform, network infrastructure, and services meet customer SLAs.
  • Cross-team collaboration with all stakeholders: vendors, support partners, account specialists, operations teams, Shared Services to remediate platform issues on a 24x7 basis.
  • Providing architecture oversight regarding infrastructure technology to ensure scalability, stability and security.
  • Compliance with JJHWS and J&J standards and requirements (GxP, SOX, SDLC, HIPAA, IAPP, 501(k)
  • Infrastructure asset management for JJHWS environments
  • Capacity planning – particularly to ensure capacity and availability of productions systems in accordance with customer SLAs.
  • Availability management – must ensure proper monitoring and reporting of all platforms, including involvement in DR strategy and implementation, backup strategies, redundancy design and 24/7/365 availability of staff.
  • Facilitate appropriate customer communications around Technical Operations incidents and events that impact JJHWS end users and economic buyers.
  • Support the IT needs of our business partners.
  • Track key metrics of the infrastructure, such as uptime, response time and outage events to report into JJHWS Operations.
  • Cross functional Tech Ops SME – consulting on new solutions or customer implementations, vendors and processes that may impact Tech Ops or customer service integrity
  • Facilitate the evolution of operations from the current PaaS model to a new cloud-based hosting model.
  • Manage vendor relationships with the software provider(s) and technical support team(s)
  • Cross-functional partnership on driving robust change control and release management processes
  • Partnering with product domain experts, ensure consistent performance and proactively manage for potential issues; make recommendations for enhancements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information technology, or related field is required
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience working in similar-scale, 24x7, production operations, preferably with internet based web delivery companies (SaaS, PaaS, cloud, or other models) is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing vendors and vendor resources is required
  • Direct or indirect supervisory or people management experience is required
  • Ability to work well with others; a team player
  • Experience and ability to manage multiple projects/activities with competing priorities to meet project deadlines is required (PMP certification is preferred)
  • Experience managing systems in a regulated or controlled environment (GxP, SOX, HIPAA, 501(k), or SDLC)
  • Good understanding of Agile Methodology and experience with Agile Project Delivery is preferred
  • Ability to partner and engage with a cross-section of people at multiple levels of the organization is required
  • Strong relationship skills; excellent verbal and writing communication skills is required
  • Experience with the following skills, technologies, and services is preferred: server infrastructure management - physical and virtual (VMware), storage solutions (SAN, NAS, backup models), Linux enterprise OS (Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE), Windows Server, authentication (LDAP, AD), DNS, DHCP), Network, security, (DNS, firewall, hardening, antivirus, change monitoring, logging)
  • Experience with the following skills & technologies is preferred: DevOps, AWS, JBoss, Nginx, Apache, Oracle, monitoring tools (application and infrastructure), Foreman, Puppet, Docker, Cognos, Pentaho, Splunk, Tidal, as well as familiarity with software development tools, development life cycle management, release management, software configuration management, software testing tools, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Scrum, or Capability Maturity Model certification is preferred
  • ITIL Foundation or higher certification is preferred
  • Experience in the Healthcare industry is preferred
