Detailed Position Responsibilities: We are offering a research internship in healthcare data analytics. The intern's main tasks include developing data analytics prototypes to (1) analyze large scale patient volume data, (2) implement optimization models for healthcare workforce scheduling, and (3) visualize key results of interest to communicate with the stakeholders. Towards the end of the internship, the intern will prepare a technical report as well as a presentation for the department. The candidate will work in a team setting with scientists and research engineers, and is expected to contribute intellectually. Detailed Position Requirements: (Degree/Experience/Skills) We are looking for a graduate level student (preferably a Ph.D.) in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Math or a related field. Strong programming skills (preferably Python or R) and experience in handling large scale optimization problems are required. Knowledge of healthcare domain is desired. Experience with cloud services will be a plus. Candidate must be able to work within a team environment and should be self-motivated with the ability to plan and execute. Candidate should also be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and written.
