Under director of the Directory Laboratory Services and Pathologist the histologist tech organizes, processes, cuts, stains, and otherwise prepared tissue for microscopic evaluation by the Pathologist. He/She ensures the organization of gross specimens and the accurate processing in staining of tissue sections is completed.
A . Licensure/Certification/Registration: Not required
B. Education: Associate degree
C. Experience: 1-year full-time experience in Histology under a certified Pathologist
D. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills. Computer skills needed. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem solving skills. Requires corrected hearing and vision to within functional ranges. If color blind, the employee may be restricted from performing tests that require color interpretation.
