First point of contract in HR office. Should be able to assist employees with basics HR questions, i.e. Benefits and Payroll. Experience in WORKERS COMPENSATION is required, Kronos & PeopleSoft preferred.
Summary: Maintain the human resource records of an organization's employees and assist the Health and Safety Manager is daily responsibilities. Responsible for maintaining personnel documents as well as performing background checks, along with other employee-related activities.
Skills and Competencies: Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Workers Compensation experience required. Will be tracking and responding to claims. Safety Administration (OSHA Logs, etc.) a plus. Will be assisting the Safety Specialist. Should have an understanding of Safety & Health.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Process, verify and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations and classifications. Process and review employment applications to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants. Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earning and supervisory reports on performance. Answer questions regarding examinations, eligibility, salaries, benefits and other pertinent information. Request information from law enforcement officials, previous employers and other references to determine applicants'employment acceptability.
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred.
