PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under close supervision, provide human resources services and support at the food plant for the union workforce. Understand and administer provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Assist with and/or administer attendance tracking system, recruitment and onboarding, timecard edits and payroll corrections, and safety related tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned. Under the guidance and oversight of the HR Generalist and HR staff provide assistance in the following:

1. Understand the Collective Bargaining Agreement and administer tasks to ensure adherence to contract provisions. This includes but is not limited to: time off procedures, attendance tracking, discipline steps and tracking, seniority, posting procedures, recalls/layoffs, meal period, call time.
2. Provide oversight, guidance and instruction to the Plant Receptionist to ensure employee punch detail records are accurate. This includes ensuring the Plant Receptionist checks Production employee punch detail records on a daily basis to ensure in and out punches match the Manager or Crew Leader roster information, calling employees in to approve time card or payroll corrections, and approving time cards.
3. Maintain the Attendance Point tracking system for Production, Receiving and Distribution. This includes assigning attendance points per the Collective Bargaining Agreement and past practice, preparing warnings, obtaining approval from Human Resource Generalist and management for the warning, providing the warning to management to issue, and collecting the signed and executed warning back from management.
4. On a daily basis request and obtain from Production Management employees who were absent, late, or went home early. Work with Human Resource Generalist and management in determining if a warning should be issued and assist in preparing the warning document.
5. Prepare Payroll Correction Reports for production employees and submit to Payroll. This includes identifying the pay error, verifying it against punch detail records and the crew leader or manager, obtaining signature approval from the crew leader or manager, submitting to Payroll, and communicating with employees as to when the error will be resolved.
6. May assist in preparing warnings based on the nature of the warning and management and Human Resource Generalist guidance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
* Knowledge of FMLA/CFRA, PDL, ADA, Disability Leave, Benefits Administration, National Labor Relations Act, Dept Of Labor, Fair Labor Standards Act, ERISA, HIPAA, DFEH, EEOC strongly preferred.
* Working knowledge of HRIS systems and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Human Resource experience working in a union environment preferred.
* English/Spanish written and oral fluency required.
* Strong customer service orientation.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
* English/Spanish written and oral fluency required.
* Read and interpret documents such as human resource policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Write routine reports, correspondence, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, management and other employees of the organization.
