Workday HCM Analyst

This position is part of the HR Technology (HRIS) team, responsible for understanding core HR business processes and supporting and maintaining core HR systems that deliver those processes. The individual in this position serves as a functional/technical support point-of-contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, configuring and testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing process and data flows for process improvement opportunities. The Analyst, HR Technology drives decentralized projects, supporting system upgrades, testing and other data management and integration activities as assigned.

Job Description
* Support and manage the design, development and performance of Discover's core HCM System ([Workday) and related business data and processes. Focus on identifying trends, determining root cause of problems, predicting future implications and determining solutions to drive effective business decisions
* Partner with configuration partners, BT, and other third party consultants as need be, in developing and deploying of data interfaces/systems integration
* Create and manage requirements, design, configuration, testing, and support activities for core HCM solution
* Maintain assignment for Role and User-Based Security for employees and/or positions in the core HCM system
* Support release management, reviewing release summary and release readiness documents from solution vendors, identifying enhancements relevant to the core HCM domain, solution and impacts to downstream systems
* Collaborate with functional COEs and technical consultants to coordinate application of upgrade features or break-fixes in the core HCM solution domain and associated processes
* Support and manage relationships with HR & business stakeholders to proactively identify and address issues and provide timely support
* Maintain relationships, and support governance and process cadence with vendors and consulting partners
* Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established practice that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation
* Act as a point of contact for system or project-based development and enhancement requests. Engages HR COEs and other departments (e.g. finance, business technology, corporate communication, legal, etc.) as need be, to understand current and future demands and ensure that HR is prepared to integrate with and support their initiatives, projects, and programs
* Support efforts to establish, document, and audit clear, consistent, and efficient processes for the maintenance, data integrity and security of HR-related information for workers including organizational structure management. Implement business process strategies for end-to-end HR processes to achieve efficiency, productivity and improved governance and control
* Support transition and decommissioning of legacy applications as required, ensuring future access needs, retention, and compliance per business requirements
* Strong understanding of all Master Data maintained in HCM system along with all other upstream and downstream business systems
* Design, plan, and execute strategies for increasing usability and integration of HCM system, determine requirements, and plan end-user training and support
* Provide project management support for decentralized projects, programs, and initiatives
* Plan, coordinate, and execute testing efforts for changes impacting HCM system
* Design and develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation to support change management
* Train users as need be on solution - processes/functionality
* Maintain awareness of current trends in HRMS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Through classes, training, use of collaborative tools at work, cloud communities, continuously increase both HR knowledge and HR Technology application/tools knowledge
* Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
* Analytical/Problem Solving: Ability to identify critical issues, problems and opportunities and determine possible solutions. Ability to identify the right solutions to a problem by utilizing a mixture of technical learning and experience
* Demonstrated understanding of HR processes and data across the employee lifecycle, including hiring/onboarding, job changes, compensation administration, timekeeping, workflow, ESS/MSS and interfaces/integrations
* Demonstrated experience with system configuration, including full system lifecycle testing
* Experience with developing and executing QA / UAT testing strategies
* Experience with HR process optimization: Knowledge of the processes and operations of the Human Resources Department and Support Services area
* Project Management and Planning: Ability to plan, organize, and lead projects
* Facilitation: Ability to listen effectively and actively engages others in discussion/problem resolution
* Innovation: Ability to identify and pursue new ideas, solutions, methods and opportunities
* Data Management: The incumbent is expected to have a broad knowledge of how HR uses data and is able to support data management and basic reporting and analytics activities
* Ability to work independently, managing work from conception through execution
* Decision Making: Ability to identify and articulate options to stakeholders. Recommend options and support decisions within areas of authority

* BS/BA degree in computer science, HR or related field or equivalent work experience
* 5+ years' experience in the implementation, development, and support of technology solutions
* 5+ years' experience in HR systems, including Core HCM, Talent Management including Performance Management and Goals, Compensation
* 3+ years' experience as project manager for technology implementation and support efforts
* 3+ years' experience with Workday Talent Management and Workday Performance Management and Workday Compensation (Core and Advanced)
* Demonstrated ability to identify impact on HCM and HR system functions based upon configuration decisions
* Workday HCM development, configuration, implementation and/or support experience required, 2+ years preferred
* One or more Workday HCM training/certifications preferred
* Experience on at least one full life cycle Workday HCM implementation preferred
* Demonstrated understanding of managing workflow through ServiceNow or SharePoint preferred
* Experience working with Reporting Tools and Concepts
* Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Productivity Tools (Office, Project, Visio)
* Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.
* Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), self-motivated and self-directed, quality oriented, flexible, and committed to successful on-time completion of tasks.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and handle pressure situations effectively and professionally
* Financial industry experience preferred
