Responsible for performing activities to help ensure the safety and health of company employees, customers, and visitors. • Develop safety and health programs and objectives and coordinate safety training programs • Monitor safety and health regulations and to ensure compliance with Federal and State safety and health regulations. • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. • Review and evaluate various job activities and new processes for safety, health, and environmental issues and makes recommendations to control or eliminate hazards. • Respond to and investigate reports of hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions; review recommendations and/or take appropriate action in order to mitigate potential safety, health, and environmental risk. • Develop and update a safety training matrix. • Develop and conduct classroom and field training of hourly and salaried personnel. • Develop and deliver presentations on environmental, health, and safety topics including monthly safety meetings. • Conduct accident investigations and safety inspections in support of the company safety program. • Conduct work area surveillance inspections, and conduct personal injury investigations. • Document accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities and determine root cause analysis. • Conduct hazard assessment of activities and determine corrective actions and PPE necessary to minimize exposure. • Review documentation to insure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures and implement appropriate corrective action as required. • Other duties as assigned.
