The Amgen Massachusetts (AMA) Human Resources (HR) Site Lead & Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for Drug Substance Technologies will be the HRBP for Amgen's Research and Development and Process Development site in Cambridge, MA. In addition, this position will also have functional HR Business Partner responsibility for the three hundred plus (300+) Drug Substance Technologies (DST) organization that has staff at six Amgen sites, including Singapore and Puerto Rico.
As the HR Site Lead in Cambridge, MA the HRBP will be a strategic partner to site leadership, managers and all levels of staff. The site HRBP will help deliver traditional HR aspects such as; onboarding, leadership development and training, coaching, rewards and recognition, and performance management, but also be involved with general site operational leadership, staff engagement and outreach activities within the Cambridge, MA scientific community aimed at helping staff and organizations reach their full potential. The HR Site Lead is a core member of the AMA Site Leadership team.
From a functional perspective, the HRBP will partner directly with the Vice President (VP) of Drug Substance also based in Cambridge, MA. The Business Partner manages all HR components for DST including headcount management, annual HR processes such as performance management and talent planning, roll out of corporate HR programs and drive strategic HR projects and actions.
Overall, this position provides the opportunity to develop solutions to a variety of complex HR problems in support of designated client groups in a fast-changing environment. This HRBP will use consulting skills to help clients achieve business objectives and increase the effectiveness of their organizations. They will also coach clients on a variety of HR and business-related issues to effect change in the organization. The mix of Site and Functional responsibility will provide the right candidate the opportunity to make a strategic impact across a high functioning scientific and engineering staff population.
Master's degree and 2 years of Human Resources experience
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Human Resources experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of Human Resources experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Human Resources experience
MBA or other Master's degree with emphasis in such areas as organizational development, management, human resources development or physical sciences
5+ years of progressively complex/strategic HR experience for large global or multinational organization, including organization effectiveness, staff relations, compensation, staff development and recruitment
Strategic HR business partner experience or other client-facing experience
Strong project management skills
Demonstrated ability to craft innovative strategies and deliver pragmatic solutions
Strong analytical skills and understanding of how to use data to inform decisions
Ability to balance a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing demands
Self-directed, passionate about the work, and willing to take informed risks
Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word
