Position Overview:
Develops the Human Resources business plans for Caribbean Refrescos, Inc. and integrates that strategy into client areas. Provide direction on planning and strategy for organization design, staffing, employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits. This role also serves as a key strategic resource for the Global Compensation and Benefits group in Atlanta, GA. Therefore, an in-depth knowledge of US laws in addition to local Puerto Rico law is essential. This position reports to the Plant General Manger - CRI and is a member of the plant's Leadership Team.

Function Related Activities / Key responsibilities:
  • Develop, manage and implement Human Resources policies and procedures, practices and programs for CRI, including the interpretation of all policies and procedures for managers and all associates
  • Develop the methodology and implementation plans for accomplishing specific human resources strategies activities in support of the business objectives: Compensation (salary planning and administration, job evaluation, performance systems, etc.) and Benefits (Cost management programs, health, dental disability programs, Thrift Plan and others)
  • Ensure that all human resources needs and / or services are met, including: associate relations, activities, health works, cafeteria services, sports, etc.
  • Provide consultation to management in organizational effectiveness, developmental planning and succession planning to optimize commitment and performance in a changing business environment
  • Ensure that all occupational safety and health services and programs are provided to associates in compliance with OSHA and State Insurance Fund regulations promoting a secure and health working environment
  • Ensure that the training and development master plans are in place
  • Ensure that all community and external relation programs and/or activities and strategies are in place
  • Responsible for the compliance with local and federal laws, and regulations applicable to the area as well as TCCC and CRI programs, policies and procedures
  • Define and maintain a systematic program for induction and on-going environmental training for associates transferred between divisions, departments, areas, jobs or tasks within the organization
Related Work Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the HR field including at least 7 years as an HR Manager overseeing EEO, Training and Development, Occupational Health and Safety, Organizational Development, Associate Relations, Recruitment and Performance, and significant exposure to Compensation and Benefits with an emphasis on plan administration and design. This role also serves as a key strategic resource for the Global Compensation and Benefits group in Atlanta, GA. Therefore, an in-depth knowledge of US laws in addition to local Puerto Rico law is essential.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Relations and/or Organizational Development.

  • Employee Relations: Knowledge of the broad range of relationships that could impact an employee, employer, or applicant. This includes knowledge of federal and state laws, company policies, practices and ethical obligations to investigate, evaluate, and recommend an appropriate resolution to an employee and labor relations' complaint. Strong knowledge in federal and local labor laws is essential
  • Regulatory laws: Knowledge of regulatory laws that impact associate issues
  • Organization Development: Knowledge and application of organization development theory
  • This includes consulting expertise in the areas of organizational behavior, organizational capabilities/change management, and workforce planning/succession planning procedures Group Facilitation: Ability to lead a group through a process to achieve a desired outcome
  • Occupational Health: Ability to deliver health care services to workers and worker populations. This includes occupational health; injury and illness investigation, analysis and prevention; primary medical care; case management; travel medicine; substance abuse; critical care; emergency care; cardiac care; counseling; and research
  • Determining Financial Impact: Understanding the financial consequences of decisions; understanding economic value for the system; acting as an owner of the business and making decisions that ensure long-term value for the organization
  • Negotiation: Exploring alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain all parties' support and acceptance; striving for outcomes that are a win-win for all parties involved
