Adecco Direct Placement is hiring an Human Resources Payroll Specialist in San Diego, CA with HR experience specializing in employee payroll. Our client is a well-known credit union who is consistently recognized for valuing their employees and having a great work environment. The compensation for this position is $47-55k with a full benefits package.
1-3 years experience in HR payroll processing
Associates Degree in Business, Management, or Human Resources
HR Certifications preferred
Background in a payroll function, including time and attendance recordkeeping
Demonstrated knowledge of basic math and accounting principles
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for handling all aspects of payroll including the timely and accurate submission of biweekly payroll and the processing of manual and termination checks.
Reviews payroll and payroll-generated reports to ensure accuracy and immediately surfaces any concerns related to payroll to management.
Responsible for processing all garnishment and withholding orders within required parameters.
Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, historical data and other relevant reports as needed.
Support audit report requirements including 401(k), workers compensation, tax reporting and various financial reviews.
Works with HRIS custom reporting service as the need arises.
Maintains a comprehensive reporting library that can be accessed by all department members.
Responsible for completing monthly General Ledger reconciliations, addressing any outstanding items timely.
Tracks and monitors un-cashed payroll checks for potential escheatment and reports these to both Member Services and Financial Accounting when they have been un-cashed for greater than 6 months.
Conduct weekly auditing of employee timecards as a backup to the HRIS Administrator to be used in the calculation of payroll.
Work with employees and managers to correct discrepancies to ensure wage and hour guidelines as well as policies are being followed.
Responsible for coordinating timecard training for all new hires including off cycle employees as well as any newly hired or promoted manager.
Submit payroll items to the designated members of the HR department for biweekly auditing related to payroll processing, employee account coding, and the active teller listing.
Solves problems concerning timecards and payroll, answers inquiries, and enforces policies.
Responsible for coordinating timecard training for all new hires including off cycle employees as well as any newly hired or promoted manager. Make presentations to department heads/branch managers/assistant managers on various timecard and payroll-related issues.
Prepare employee's final check distribute no later than that employee's final day of employment except in the case of a resignation without notice.
