Job Description

Acts in a lead technical role providing technical guidance and consultation with developers, clients and IT management for an IBM Business Process Management (BPM) environment. Provides the strategy and design for projects associated with web and e-commerce application installations, upgrades and deployments. Utilizes advanced technologies and methods to integrate web systems with existing systems, enabling the creation of new or expanded web enterprises. Develops new documentation and departmental technical procedures. Directs the gathering of performance statistics to assist in determining hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets. As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems involving the maintenance and/or creation of web sites and ecommerce applications and their integration into the existing systems environment. Leads projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.

In particular this is a Support Engineer position for the IBM BPM platform support team. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support for production and lower environments.
  • Monitor system runtime performance.
  • Build new Environments and expand capacity as required.
  • Work with application owners and application support teams to help resolve issues.
  • Establish common patterns and sets standards for application logging (business event versus system or technical logging) error handling, and process instance recovery.
  • Involved with deploying code into various environments.
  • Ensure compliance with Wells Fargo Technology standards.
  • Also responsible for Product Upgrades, Capacity & Performance Management, Monitor & Tune Platform Usage, Benchmark Performance Testing, Core Integrations , Access & Security and Infrastructure Support.

This candidate will work on various project engagements, across Wells Fargo and support the BPM solution through Implementation, configuration, custom scripting, and application deployments within BPM systems environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of web systems environments experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Web application installations, upgrades, and deployment experience
  • Experience with servers or systems that support/host web applications

Other Desired Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Experience with Business Process Management (BPM) technologies.
  • 1-3 years of experience with IBM BPM 8.x and above configuration, implementation, administration or development.
  • 3-4 years of experience with configuration and administration IBM WebSphere and/or other application servers.
  • Experience with at least one Webserver like Apache HTTP or IHS server and its integration with IBM BPM.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux scripting or jython/jacl.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing team environment with aggressive timelines.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.

DESIRED:

  • Experience with IBM ODM and understanding of Business Rules engine.
  • Good understanding of Java and J2EE concepts.
  • Familiarity with HP Server Automation or Venafi Trust protection platform.
  • Related technology consulting with strong customer interaction
  • Experience interacting with multiple stakeholders.
  • Related Certifications.

JOB EXPECTATIONS:

  • Needs to be flexible to work during off hours or weekends at time during tasks like production deployment or troubleshooting.
  • There may be some travel 1 to 2 times a year for industry conferences, trainings etc.
