Janssen, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of
Companies, is recruiting a Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics and Metabolism
Intern. Janssen is the name given to
Johnson & Johnson’s global group of pharmaceutical companies. These companies market both conventional and
biotech products in a broad range of therapeutic areas. The Internship Program
is focused on providing university graduate students with practical industrial
This summer intern will:
- Optimize and compare 2 co-cultured
hepatocytes systems for maximum production of covalent protein binding of drugs
incubated at 2 concentrations.
- The turnover of drugs will be determined
by radio-profiling of incubation extract and the solubilized washed-protein
pellets will be analyzed by SDS-PAGE.
- The radiolabeled protein band will be
excised and in-gel digestion will be performed for protein identification using
high resolution accurate mass LC-MS and searching protein database.
- Candidates must be enrolled in an
accredited college (not necessarily taking classes) and in their third or
fourth year of a PhD program in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical
Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmaceutical
Sciences or a related discipline.
- Looking for candidate with experience
handling radioactivity, performing protein separation by SDS-PAGE, in-gel
digestion for proteomic analysis by high resolution accurate LC-MS.
- Students must be available for 3 or 4 consecutive
months between May and October 2017 and have the ability to work full-time
during that time.
