The Merck Research Laboratories (MRL) Exploratory Science Center (ESC) Cambridge, a wholly owned subsidiary of Merck and Co., is focused on driving early discovery research. We are seeking innovative Immunologists to join the Merck Exploratory Science Center (ESC) in Cambridge, MA.
  • Successful candidate will become part of a creative and flexible team that will investigate host/pathogen interactions, the influence of the microbiome on host immunity and immune responses to novel vaccines with the ultimate goal of delivering novel therapeutics to address significant unmet medical need in infectious disease as well as broader indications.
  • Will leverage advances in immuno-biology research and employ new technologies to impact programs.
  • Candidates for the position should have expertise in innate immunity and/or T and B-cell biology and experience with standard immunology techniques.
  • Expected to understand and solve challenging issues independently and to show a high degree of innovation.
  • Critical to success will be the ability to design experiments, interpret and track results, and utilize this information for immune-therapy development.

  • Required: MS in Immunology or related discipline
  • Preferred: PhD
Required Experience:
  • 0-2 years Postdoctoral or equivalent Industrial experience
  • Experience with Immunology techniques
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong history of publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • 15% Travel
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with Vaccines or Biologic Therapies
  • Microbiome Research experience
