Industrial Engineer Intern

What you will do
Johnson Controls invites you to apply for our industrial engineer internship located in Sanger, CA. This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.

We are looking for a candidate currently enrolled in school and available to commit 20 hours/week immediately and throughout the semester with the possibility to extend the internship full-time during the summer following successful performance.

How you will do it:
  • Implement improvement plans and monitors progress to ensure updates achieve desired results and are implemented in a timely manner. Ability to interface with all departments during project implementation.
  • Assist with work station layout optimization, line balance and material flow analysis.
  • Assist with standardized work implementation and process documentation.
  • Support and implements Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Perform data analysis to assess process capability and implement improvements
What we look for
Required Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or similar
  • Currently a Junior/Senior status
  • GPA requirement: 3.0 or higher
  • Trained in Lean Manufacturing Principles (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Factory, Kanban, etc.)
  • Available to work 20 hours/week
  • Currently attending school in the greater Fresno/Sanger, CA area
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills required
  • AutoCAD experience a plus
  • Kaizen Facilitation Ability a Plus
