We are seeking passionate technologists with a broad range of exposure to enterprise products and technologies. You will have a strong infrastructure background and be capable of addressing the technical requirements of the global organization. Assisting with the delivery of the strategy, you will contribute significantly to the future roadmaps for all end user products and services Job Specific Responsibilities Build Microsoft Window desktop and virtual images and Automation - Strong skills in build desktop and virtual images for End User space. The image should be unique in the sense that is not reliant on any 3rd party software to complete, more advanced scripts to provide a zero touch effort. Heavy scripting experience - Strong skills in all scripting languages such as but not limited to PowerShell, PowerCLI. This skill will be used throughout the team for creating automation processes to be used throughout all Engineering products and services. Application packaging (wrapping) for desktop and virtual - Strong skills in managing the packaging of applications in the virtual and desktop spaces. This would mostly include provided MSI's that need to be tested, updated, configured for the Users. Providing desktop and virtualization software solutions based on the agreed requirements in line with best practices and industry cutting edge techniques. The scope includes but not limited to new packaging, updating of current software packages and software virtualizing GPO desktop experience - manage desktop GPO space by working directly with the directory services team on current and future controls needed while troubleshooting any issues that arise Assist with creating, maintaining and agreeing Technology Strategy. The creation and ongoing development of this strategy is in conjunction with GIO Technology. In addition to supporting the business strategy, the technology strategy needs to also be focused on delivering timely, innovative and cost effective solutions. Determine, document and agree business, operational and technical requirements in conjunction with the businesses, business aligned technology team and GIO Technology Towers. The objective of agreeing all the requirements is to ensure that that the most appropriate solutions are proposed, agreed and delivered. Involvement in designing and building technical solutions based on the agreed requirements. The designs of each technical solution will be documented in an Infrastructure Design Document which is the logical design. All IDDs are owned by GEUS Engineering. Provide a complete handover of each technical solution which will include appropriate technical documentation and delivering the necessary training to Operational Technology staff so they can operate the specific solution. Participation in evaluations and prototypes of technical infrastructure and services in conjunction with global architecture team. Provide technical assistance and support for pilots to Operational Technology staff but not responsible for managing, deploying or operating them. Assist the Operational Technology staff in designing the required operational processes to ensure that they are aligned to and appropriate for the technical solution. This will include providing detailed technical knowledge and guidance on the operation of the technical solution. Infrastructure Engineering are not responsible for the operation of any production service. Provide Level 3 support to Operational Technology staff, where required Assist with Severity 1 and 2 Major Incident handling where required. Required Qualifications: 8+ yrs. of related technical experience. MS/BS or equivalent work experience. Industry Certifications preferred Expert in multiple operating systems and/or middleware technologies experience Knowledgeable in available support tools and emerging technologies as well as all functional areas in IT organization. Strong understanding of how technology relates to business, market and industry and applies such knowledge to support the needs of the business.
