JLABS, part of Johnson & Johnson Innovation is a network of life science incubators providing emerging companies many of the advantages of being in a big company, without the capital investment. JLABS offers singular bench tops, modular wet lab units and office space on a short-term basis, allowing companies to pay only for the space they need, with an option to quickly expand when they have the resources to do so. Companies residing at JLABS also have access to core research labs hosting specialized capital equipment and shared administrative areas.

 

JLABS is an open innovation model, and the agreement for space does not grant JLABS or Johnson & Johnson Innovation any stake or rights in the companies, nor will the companies have a guaranteed future affiliation with JLABS. The flagship facility is located in San Diego at Janssen's West Coast Research Center, and Johnson & Johnson Innovation JLABS has now two established locations in San Francisco, one through collaboration with the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) and a second standalone facility in Boston, through a collaboration with LabCentral. Reporting to the Global Innovation Activation Leader for JLABS of Johnson & Johnson Innovation, the Innovation Activation Specialistis responsible for supporting the strategic planning, development and implementation of marketing initiatives for JLABS in New York City. 

 
Responsibilities Include:
 

Overall management of JLABS NYC – based external presence for JLABS corporate brand identity and the JLABS NYC branded programs. 

 

Responsible for supporting external engagements in support of advancing our business objectives, driving awareness and advancing organizational reputation.

 

Support JLABS corporate identity internal and external work (electronic and hardcopy newsletters, portal, external websites, external brochures, presentations, social media channels, etc.).  

 

Lead the creation and implementation of JLABS NYC programming (budgeting, develop calendar, recruit speakers, manage logistics, ticket sales) including the development of strategic e-marketing communications plan and schedule to ensure optimal attendance results. 

 

Lead regional community engagement with onsite Licensees (portal communications, discounts, site celebrations, etc.) including tracking and sharing of Licensee progress reported in the media.  

 

Manage ongoing relationships with key internal and regional external stakeholders including strategic marketing partners, trade associations, potential sponsors, and collaborators by developing mutually beneficial agreements and tracking benefits to ensure optimal results. 

 

Lead and leverage JLABS presence at regional conferences (sponsorship, speaking engagements, event planning, advertisements, booth, speakers, etc.). 

 


Qualifications
 

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Business or a related discipline is required.

 

A proven performer with a minimum of 6 years of events experience is required.

 

Experience developing event content and advertising of content is strongly preferred.

 

Experience in driving effective marketing campaigns is required.

 
eMarketing experience preferred.
 

Exceptional writing skills are required.

 

Experience in a health care setting or industry association is preferred.

 

Experience working with and managing vendors and consultants, and managing budgets is preferred.

 

Experience in managing social media is preferred. 

 

Experience in event management tools (Eventbrite, Constant Contact, Salesforce, etc.) and online tools are preferred. 

 

Must be detail orientated and have strong personal leadership skills.

 

This position will require up to 30% regional travel and will be based in New York City.
