Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Innovation, LLC in Menlo Park, CA is an innovation embassy for J&J focused on investing in and collaborating with the innovation community.  Digital and Informatics technologies are vital to J&J Innovation as a strategic capability for analytics, collaboration, mobility, social/relationship management and leveraging information as an asset.  The Digital Innovation team is transforming the way the J&J Innovation operates as we continue to catalyze towards modern collaboration models & tools to connect with experts, while leveraging rich insights from our data systems to answer vital questions and make key decisions. 

 

Reporting into the Innovation Enablement Director in Menlo Park, California, the Innovation Enablement Co-op will manage a collection of Big Data, CRM, and Web projects ranging from coordination to hands-on implementation.  The individual in this role will be responsible for design, development, testing and support of software, hardware solutions, and web applications.  The Digital Innovation Co-op will work with business users to help understand their needs and requirements, and leverage the extended Digital Innovation team around the world to bring the best solution to the end user.  This individual will also be managing a variety of tasks, which may include application development, configuration, analysis and/or dashboard creation, data management in Salesforce.com, and day to day site operations.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Evaluate Big Data and Competitive intelligence platforms from external vendors, comparing them with established solutions
  • Developing requirements and managing projects with internal partners and external vendors
  • Drive delivery of externally focused web based platforms, working with business partners, designers, developers, and project managers
  • Providing training on various technology solutions to Innovation Center business partners
  • Assist in evaluation of new hardware and software technologies and provide report summaries.
  • Evaluate business requirements and design, implement and configure data visualizations and dashboards
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting of portfolio data
  • Dashboarding and ability to translate requirements to visual snapshots


Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in school as an undergraduate or graduate student as of September 2016
  • Must be available to work full time (40 hours per week) during the entire length of the co-op
  • Must be able to provide your own transportation to and from work on a daily basis
  • Students must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Demonstrable skill with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and data assembly via Spotfire/Tableau/Qlikview or similar is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous direction, interpreting requirements to deliver an effective solution is required
  • Knowledge of Big Data and analytics space is preferred
  • Knowledge of Box or similar cloud storage mechanism preferred
  • Must display high energy, focus and presence
  • Experience working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Chatter, Communities and Analytics engines is a plus
  • Experience creating, maintaining and troubleshooting web sites and portals, basic knowledge of web design/dev including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SharePoint, hosting platforms, CMS, and Salesforce.com is a plus
  • Experience with Digital Health/Med Tech is a plus
