Current Need
The Inside Account Manager (IAM) is responsible for the sale of Pharmaceutical Generic products and services to independent pharmacies within their assigned territory via the telephone.  The IAM will work very closely with the territory’s Outside Sales Manager.  The IAM will partner with Outside Sales and Marketing to build and maintain relationships with existing McKesson customers.  The IAM will operate as a Pharmaceutical Generics business advisor and consultant for customer profitability

Position Description

Responsible for marketing the company’s products and/or services via telephone to current McKesson customers.  Build relationships with current and new McKesson customers to help them make informed buying decisions.  Partner with Outside Sales Managers in their territories to answer customer’s questions typically generated by changes in the pharmaceutical industry.  Communicate with Outside Sales Manager on a daily basis.  Document customer interactions via web-based Customer Relationship Management tool.  Mail marketing/sales literature to prospective clients.  Keep up-to-date on industry and product changes.  This position is targeted to receive 15% bonus based on sales performance.


Minimum Requirements
  • 2+ years sales or account management experience 

Preferred requirements
  • Must be self-motivated and results oriented
  • Must have good problem solving and decision making skills
  • Must be a team player and willing to work in a changing environment
  • Previous sales and/or account management experience required
  • Proficient in MS Office

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience a big plus
  • Call center experience a plus
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, trends and processes
  • Effectively communicate product, price, promotion and procedure information to customers and field sales manager
  • Participate on cross functional process improvement teams
  • Strong analytical and business skills
  • Self starter that requires little direction

4 year degree or equivalent experience.
