Eaton’s Electrical North American Sales (NAS) division is seeking an Industrial Inside Sales Engineer to be based out of our Smyrna, GA sales office.
 
Position Overview:
 
The primary function is to provide support for assigned Sales Engineers in the Industrial markets that they serve to ensure customer satisfaction, these include but are not limited to Oil and Gas, Pulp and Paper, Automotive, Mining and Metals and Consumer Products. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Project take-off and bid preparation via Bid Manager, prepare bill of materials, terms and conditions, pricing, prepare submittals, quotations follow-up, negotiation tracking, administer change orders, support Outside Sales Engineers, and other duties as assigned by the Area Sales Manager. Provide technical assistance to Distributors and End Customers to ensure satisfaction with Eaton’s products and services. Maintain effective communication between Distributors and Outside Sales Engineers thereby maximizing Sales Engineer's effectiveness to be in front of customers. Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities. Communicate such information to product divisions. Maintain a cooperative and credible working relationship with other Eaton personnel to assure customer satisfaction.
 
The inside sales engineer is to act as a technical and commercial resource to field sales, customers and distributors for quotations and project management of power distribution, power protection, and power equipment maintenance; including electrical solutions from complex custom industrial applications.
 
 
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Accurate and timely plan and specification interpretation, quotation and technical support; communication with customers, warehouse and plants to facilitate problem resolution; proactive identification of sales potential and follow up to secure orders.
  • Review and interpret customer needs on plans and specifications. Determine the minimum bill of material, most competitive price level and shipment cycle within the market segment pertaining to each specific negotiation.
  • Proactively facilitate timely solutions to customer issues by utilizing available resources or creating procedures for resolution.
  • Coordinate warranty and non-warranty repairs and returns, which include shipping issues or service requests.
  • Project manage small to medium projects on as needed basis.
  • Establish and maintain the highest possible commercial relations with present and potential customers (internal and external) by effectively employing the highest level of skills with regard to the art of salesmanship, application engineering, product knowledge, knowledge of customers business and organization and knowledge of Eaton product lines strategic plans for sales growth.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience within the technology or electrical industry.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience or exposure to a manufacturing organization
  • Commercial experience
  • Sales and/or marketing experience
 
Position Criteria:
  • Electrical experience with low to medium voltage systems
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills
