Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an I&E Technician for its Liberal, KS facility. This facility is the main helium liquid supply within North America. The Liberal Production facility has 3 production plants within the complex. This Helium Facility supplies LHE to our customer base globally.

This position is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment at the Liberal, KS Helium Facility and associated Truck Terminal.

Applicants must be able to:
- Read blueprints, P&ID's, single-lines, ladder logic, and wiring schematics.
- Repair and troubleshoot analog and discrete instrument loops.
- Effectively use typical test and calibration equipment, including pneumatic calibrators, RTD calibrators, MA calibrators, T/C calibrators, digital and analog multi-meters, meggers, and laptops for equipment communication.
- Follow step-by-step calibration procedures.
- Use computerized systems to enter and retrieve data.
- Troubleshoot and repair 480 VAC 3 phase motor controls as well as 120 VAC control circuits.
- Troubleshoot PLC problems through knowledge of PLC logic and operations.

Work with and troubleshoot the following:
- Pressure, temperature, level and flow measuring equipment
- Pneumatic Controls
- Water analytical equipment, including pH/ORP, Conductivity -Solenoids
- Limit & Proximity Switches
- Control valves

Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED - Trade/Technical degree or apprenticeship in a related field a plus but not required
- Fabrication, wiring and hook up experience of Instrumentation and Electrical equipment.
- Detail oriented and willing to document details appropriately.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills.
- Familiar with PLC's & PLC logic
- Experience with Siemens, Bailey or other DCS systems a plus but not required.
- Experience with high voltage switching equipment (4160V and above) a plus but not required.
- Strong personal safety philosophy.
- Very strong organizational skills
- Must be team oriented and have a willingness to learn and further develop technical skills.
