A reputable healthcare organization in the Downtown Los Angeles area is looking for an experienced Insurance Verification Specialists/Authorization Specialists to join their team. The Insurance Verification Specialist must have working knowledge of medical terminology and various health plan providers. Responsibilities consist of contacting insurance carriers to obtain benefits and verifying if pre-certification and/or prior authorization is required for patients prescription refill and/or procedure. The Insurance Verification Specialist will also submit pertinent clinical information directly to health plan providers as required to obtain authorization. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of working with HMO, PPO, Medicare and Medi-cal. Excellent customer services skill with patients, physicians and clinic staff is required as well. Three or more years of relevant healthcare experience is the minimum for this role. Hours are either 8:30am - 5pm or 9am - 5:30pm and punctuality is key for this company.
