What will you make with IBM?
As an IBM Technical Accounting Analyst, you will review IBM contracts for revenue recognition and work with deal teams during the pre-contract stage to ensure accounting implications are understood. You will perform a unique and integral role as a 'trusted business advisor' by influencing key business decisions, supporting internal as well as external client facing operations and contributing to business results for one or more of the company's business segments and/or geographical operating units.
IBM Accounting has the responsibility to accurately record the company's financial performance using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, IBM Accounting Practices and Local Statutory Principles. Professionals working in this area are involved in some or all of the following activities: accounting for complex business transactions, advising the business on technical accounting matters, performing financial performance reporting and analysis and maintaining accounting systems and applications. You will be responsible to provide comprehensive and meaningful information to management through interpretation of financial data while ensuring high standards of control over financial reporting. You will have vast opportunities for skills training and leadership development.
Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of US GAAP including emerging accounting issues (i.e. new revenue recognition standard), IFRS, SEC filing requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
