The Life and Health Valuation area within Brighthouse Financial Actuarial is seeking to fill a summer intern position to analyze financial data and support modeling efforts for Individual Life and Health products. In this role, you will learn about Insurance industry and gain analytical experience by working on real business assignments. Additionally, your projects will include researching trends and variances in reserves, streamlining practices and procedures, and supporting a team developing new modeling software for a multitude of Life and Health insurance products.  Through your projects and interaction with the team, you will learn about the critical role actuaries play in the insurance industry.



  • Acquire knowledge of Life and Health insurance products and insurance industry.
  • Prepare data for company and industry analysis of emerging regulations.
  • Update and develop Valuation modeling software
  • Assist others with conducting experience analysis
  • Perform additional duties as required.


  • In pursuit of a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Operational Research, Actuarial or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and VBA. 
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Self-starter, results-driven, customer-focused and strong team player/builder
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with actuarial concepts including life contingencies a plus
