3M is seeking an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Statistics Intern for the Corporate Safety & Industrial Hygiene group located in Maplewood, Minnesota in Summer 2018. Here, you go.

An internship is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-14 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year. 3M provides eligible interns with temporary housing and round-trip travel reimbursement in accordance with current policy.

Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of EHS Statics Intern will acquire general knowledge and understanding quickly within 3M. The intern will work with 3M Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professionals in our corporate headquarters and provide statistics expertise to projects designed to drive EHS improvement throughout our global operations. In addition, the intern will have an opportunity to work on ad-hoc efforts and start to build a network of resources.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Statistical investigation and analysis on EHS-related projects.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Statistics and/or Business Analytics from an accredited university
  • Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree or PhD in Statistics and/or Business Analytics from an accredited university
  • Good oral and written communication skills along with strong computer skills.
  • Experience in constructing and validation models.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated statistical and organizational skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Access skills
