Pay Rate/Salary: $11.50-16.00 / Hour

Staffmark is currently recruiting for Interpreters who will be providing consecutive interpretation services over-the-phone in a contact center environment. The Intermediate Interpreter is required to be fluent in English and target language at a professional level, be able to pass an Intermediate interpretation assessment and demonstrate effective over-the-phone interpreter performance at that level. The Intermediate Interpreter will be expected to provide excellent customer service, communicate all information and ideas clearly and accurately, and adhere to the requirements of the workplace. Successful interpreters will have the opportunity to learn new subject matter and become qualified to service more challenging call types.

  • Provide the highest level of customer service during interpreting sessions

  • Continuously expand vocabulary and knowledge of subject matter required for various clients

  • Develop techniques to improve listening skills and short-term memory

  • Participate in skill development activities

  • Complete all compliance training and keep all assignment-related information strictly confidential

  • Provide accurate and complete interpretation without paraphrasing

  • Act professionally with regards to appearance, conduct, and punctuality

  • Participate in regular feedback and coaching sessions to continually improve performance

  • Maintain professional and ethical standards related to the position

  • Adhere to shifts as scheduled

  • Attend regular interpreter meetings

  • Attend training sessions as scheduled

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements�Professional Proficiency (speaking, listening, and reading) in English and target language
    �Successful passage of the Intermediate Interpretation performance test
    �The ability to attend training, master the concepts and develop the skills necessary to perform effective consecutive interpretation
    �Ability to communicate effectively across cultures
    �Ability to use multiple software and phone systems simultaneously
    �Ability to sit and interpret over-the-phone for extended periods
    �A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
    �A four-year college degree preferred
    �Minimum one year of over the telephone interpretation experience
