II. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Manager and the Interventional Radiology Supervisor , the Interventional Radiology Technologist and the general direction of the medical staff is responsible for professional patient care and related assistance to patients upon admission to the department. The Interventional Radiology Technologist utilizes the patient care process in ensuring safe, competent and quality patient care. The Interventional Radiology Technologist in the Interventional Radiology department supports all aspects of the patient's procedure under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. This person ensures a safe environment for the patient and others, appropriately communicates with physicians, co-workers, volunteers, other hospital departments and patient family members. The Interventional Radiology Technologist acts to provide care in a competent, efficient and cost effective manner. Must be able to assess own learning needs to enhance personal and professional development. Increases knowledge and skills related to patient care by attending workshops, formal classes, seminars and inservices. The Interventional Radiology Technologist's patient care skills are subject to the policies and procedures of the hospital. Responsible on-call participation is required for this position.

EDUCATION, LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Current licensure in Texas as a Radiologic Technologist
Registered American Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Radiologic Technologist.
ACLS Certification (recommend)
