JOB TITLE: Investment Analyst - Structured ProductsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Description:Nationwide Investments employs a team oriented and results driven approach to managing our clients' portfolios. Structured Products is a core segment of the fixed income portfolio. The position will focus primarily on supporting the broader Structured Products team in identifying, executing, and monitoring investment opportunities across various collateral types and structures including CLOs, CMBS, RMBS and ABS. The position will also focus on general quantitative and analytical support, relative value analysis, portfolio reporting, driving various technology initiatives and coordinating materials and analysis used in various strategy meetings.Key Responsibilities:• Develop a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of fixed income, various collateral and structure types as required• Develop framework for consistently collecting, archiving, analyzing, categorizing and communicating key relative value metrics across the broader fixed income team• Collaborate with Structured Products team members to pro-actively generate relative value investment ideas and recommendations via conversations, presentations, market meetings, and written reports• Collaborate with Structured Products team members to drive enhancements to analytical standards, portfolio reporting and investment processes including being a team liaison to various partners including middle/back office, accounting, data management, finance and technology• Ongoing rigorous surveillance of existing holdings, identification of emerging investment risks, and development and implementation of successful risk mitigation actions• Develop and coordinate materials for various strategy meetings• Monitor and manage key governance and control processes across the broader team• Review various deal document including identification of transactional strengths and weaknesses• Conduct quarterly DV01 portfolio reporting including analysis and reconciliation of variances to non desk analytical systems and report results broadly to team, investment risk management and enterprise portfolio management• Compile CMBS collateral data for the Quarterly Management Report, manage underwriting updates to the CMBS Website for recently completed deals and coordinate retrieval and analysis of property financial statements and rent rolls obtained from the servicer• Periodic reporting including Quarterly Liquidity reports• Interact professionally and successfully with outside vendors, third party managers, rating agencies, sell-side firms, issuers, legal firms, servicers, regulators and other Nationwide groups to gather information, identify and facilitate the analysis of investment opportunities, and advance Nationwide's image and reputation• Perform ad-hoc projects, reporting and analysis as requestedJOB REQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelor's Degree; MBA or CFA preferredExperience: Minimum of one to three years of fixed income experience; previous insurance company experience preferredSkills/Competencies: Most critical attributes are: analytical capabilities, problem solving, critical thinking and effective communication.
