1. Docket all incoming and out-going patent related mail received from the USPTO, WIPO, foreign agents, and route mail  to the appropriate attorney or agent for action

2. Manage attorney dockets and monitor deadlines

3. Draft filings for US utility patent applications and PCT applications

4. Electronically file USPTO and WIPO documents for patent attorneys and agents

5. Coordinate formality documents for national phase applications

6. Draft correspondence to outside counsel and foreign agents

7. Conduct searches on WIPO, USPTO, EPO

8. Other duties as assigned


• Knowledge of practice area and ability to anticipate actions

• Collaborate in an effective and mature manner with attorneys, paralegals and  other co-workers

• Ability to be a proactive self-starter, who understands the details within a much larger context

• Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks

• Must pay attention to details and have the ability to follow up and follow through

• Expresses self clearly and effectively when talking with individuals and groups

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills




• Must have a minimum of 5+ years of patent experience working in either a law firm or corporate legal department

• Prior patent docketing experience is required

• Must have experience with foreign and domestic patent prosecution

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook and IP docketing software
