**Job Description:** Our teams build the self-service oriented infrastructure for Isilon while providing tools and best practices to increase efficiency of our engineers. We enable our engineering teams to focus on what they do best: developing the future of Isilon products to enable our customers’ success. **What is happening in DevOps & Infrastructure?** As Isilon products continue to solve our customer’s challenges **around scale, density, uptime and performance, our team is addressing challenges around capacity, performance and scalability** of the resources our engineering teams rely on to develop and deliver high quality Isilon solutions. Do you want to simplify and automate in the build/deploy/test cycle to provide actionable, relevant, fast feedback to individual developers and the business as the product evolves… constantly and consistently? How do we pool engineering lab resources to minimize idle time and maximize availability of these resources for competing engineering tasks? How do we anticipate changes in infrastructure requirements to allow engineers to try different solutions and innovate faster as they solve new challenging customer problems? How do we automate detection, monitoring, alarm, self-recovery cycles to provide infrastructure and environments that run with machine-like precision? What is the best implementation and balance of virtualization and cloud management to deliver “as-a-service” solutions? How do we scale our virtual deployments and move the availability needle without breaking the bank? These are the type of challenges we put in front of us daily, and our teams always find an answer! **How do we do our work?** Our work and priorities are driven by engineering needs and product features. We work closely with the engineering community to understand their needs, their expectations, and their strategies. We overlay Isilon’s product roadmaps to get a better understanding of how our work will support Isilon’s ability to deliver on those roadmaps. **This creates our pipeline of work and we execute following lean and agile methodologies, always delivering the right solution at the right time.** **What technologies do we use and build?** **We are always prototyping solutions with bleeding edge technologies** , but only implement what we believe will make our engineering community more agile, makes our lives easier, and keep us ahead of the competition. The DevOps & Infrastructure team uses a broad range of tools and technologies and we use them to best address the challenge in front of us. We are all well versed in *nix and networking; work with virtualization platforms such as Docker, AWS, Xen and VMWare; use Puppet, Chef and Foreman for configuration management, provisioning and automation; Python is preferred for programming and we also do PowerCLI and VMWare scripting; we constantly explore new infrastructure paradigms such as Kubernetes and Nomad. **What kind of engineer does best in DevOps & Infrastructure?** Our DevOps engineers are **obsessed with operational efficiency and always put our customer first** . We deliver incremental improvements fast as we build long-term, **scalable solutions** . We dogfood our solutions because what we deliver to the engineering community is also what we want to work with. We are highly cooperative individuals that celebrate our successes as a team and help each other overcome challenges. Our engineers are passionate about the work we do and are incredibly **curious** about new technologies. **EMC Values:** When you choose our company, you join a diverse world of innovative thought leaders. At our core is a commitment to workplace diversity, the sustainability of our planet, and community corporate involvement. We offer highly competitive salaries, bonus programs, world-class benefits, and unparalleled growth and development opportunities-all to create a compelling and rewarding work environment. We are an equal opportunity employer.
