Oracle Global IT - Enterprise Network Strategic Planner Global IT Enterprise Network Services provide Global WAN, Office, Employee, Internet, Data Center and 3rd Party Connectivity to all Oracle 600 locations, 145k employees and 2k Third Party Customers.

As Strategic Planner you will hold a highly visible central role in facilitating the direction for the Service and ensuring the work that GIT is doing will best enable our strategic directives. Planners work directly with the LT members to ensure GIT is working on the right work at the right time to optimize delivery against our strategic goals. Planners will also maintain an annual Service Strategy and the associated Service Roadmaps. These Roadmaps are based on technology opportunities, customer requests, process improvement opportunities, financial and security constraints, and drive the execution of large improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a mix of technical and business knowledge, bring a broad knowledge of IT processes and technologies and experience working with a diverse and global team.

Management technical experience in network strategy, design, delivery and support roles is an advantage. In addition to the above, a broad knowledge of IT processes and technologies and experience working with a diverse, virtual and global team.

Strategy Planner responsibilities include:
  1. Partnering with GIT leadership team to ensure GIT strategy for our imperatives and managing the incoming work through the governance cycle
  2. Definition of current and future state of Global IT's Enterprise Network Service
  3. Partner across a small peer team of Strategy Planners to define and refine processes, identify areas of improvements
  4. Manage the request intake process for new request by working with SMEs to define and identify resource capacity
  5. Work with the Service Level Management and Service Catalog functions to determine key service drivers, Service KPIs, benchmarks/target, and structure of the service
  6. Definition of current and future state of Global IT's Enterprise Network Service (ENS)

  8. Evaluate results of initiatives to determine if the Service capabilities have delivered the desired service changes/progress
R equirements
  • Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality
• Broad knowledge of network technologies including LAN, Data Center, WAN, routing protocols and security.
  • Strong leadership, innovation and creativity in bringing various viewpoint together to advance the services
  • Solid understanding of IT's products and services with the ability to identify gaps and areas that need improvement
  • Synthesize data from a variety of sources. Identify and evaluate relevant issues to target improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through cross-functional and widely dispersed virtual teams. Requires extensive networking with colleagues within Global IT, customers and external sources
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple efforts simultaneously; highly motivated and able to work against aggressive schedules
  • Strong communication skills; the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization

Experience:
  • 10 years of progressive business experience
  • Management technical experience in unified communications strategy, design, delivery and support roles is an advantage.
  • Working understanding of ITSM
  • Demonstrated experience applying IT technology in an innovative manner to solve business problems
  • Proven ability to collaborate at multiple levels, across divisions, functions and cultures; comfortable working with executive level management
  • Able to work well in a staff environment that requires flexibility in long range, short range and very short turnaround assignments
  • Previous experience in the preparation of budgets, forecasting techniques, cost tracking, etc.
  • Experience with best practice benchmarking processes and practices
  • Superior communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation written, email)
  • Strong listening and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated conflict management skills
  • Strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure; especially network

Education: Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, Business, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent experience

Qualifications:
Assists with analyzing complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.

As part of a software project implementation team, provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user needs. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business specifications. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

Provide leadership and expertise in evaluating and developing complex business problems, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing automated systems. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Eight or more years of related experience recommended.
