Medical Devices represents more than 60 manufacturing sites and 26,000 employees who plan, source, manufacture and deliver high-quality and cost-effective medical products to our customers around the globe each day. Work of the MD organization supports a multitude of product platforms, new products and delivery systems that are used in a wide range of procedures throughout the healthcare industry, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, minimally invasive surgery, hospital sterilization, clinical laboratory testing and joint replacement surgery.
The company is seeking a leader to enable Digital Health Innovation for Medical Device Sector R&D, By combining deep expertise in medical device products, technology (software, embedded sensors, data analytic insights), hospital systems and with knowledge of the health care delivery model, this leader will help transform the sector to be a ‘solutions provider’ for patients, physicians and payers.
We are looking for a leader who has been an entrepreneur in the health care industry, delivered technology-enabled solutions in the marketplace, knows how to coalesce and integrate highly regulated medical devices with advance technologies and transform disease state management better. This individual will need to align stakeholders in R&D, Medical Sciences and IT around common objectives to pursue, identify relevant internal and external partners, strategically recommend and tactically execute specific projects to fruition. This individual should possess technical depth, breadth, take risks and an enviable track record of success to build leadership trust, comfortable in a dynamic environment and ability to focus and get things done.
Other Key Responsibilities
•Engage, participate, and provide guidance on external trends in healthcare innovations that will transform OneMD. Leverage enterprise and other assets to drive technology enabled solutions.
•Lead and deliver specific projects, in collaboration with R&D, IT and other internal stakeholders.
•Setup good governance processes, build a high caliber team for the future
•Has deep understanding of business value that capabilities will generate and able to prioritize associated technology investments. Experience effectively collaborating and managing stakeholders, knowledge of trends (e.g., digital, big data, cognitive computing within disease states) expertise driving solutions to commercialize. Superb technical depth and breadth, ability to quickly ascertain viable possibilities and propose solid technical recommendations to pursue. Track record of leading complex platform programs in health tech industry.
•Bachelors degree required in the field of sciences or engineering
•Master’s degree preferred
•8 years’ experience leading highly technical teams in advanced technology groups within R&D, IT and/or startups required
•5 year’s people management experience required
•Deep understanding of diverse set of technology platforms is preferred
•Experience running agile teams is preferred
•20% travel may be required
