IT Engineer 3 (R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company; Rockville, MD) - Provide ongoing support and security of all IT systems and internal and external applications to financial services clients. Develop Cloud computing solutions and XBRL solutions to help the company file financial information, including financial statements, annual and quarterly filings, disclosures, and other financial data. Schedule, monitor, guide and participate in installing, configuring, analyzing, and maintaining systems software, hardware and related applications systems. Conduct data analysis, develop analytics, and design, deploy and troubleshoot custom applications. Evaluate, recommend, plan, design, troubleshoot and restore technical services and schedule production deployments. Perform system backup processes and disaster recovery tests. Establish and implement systems and operational guidelines, procedures and standards. Ensure availability, performance and security of systems software including operating and network systems and utilities, servers and other hardware. Coordinate responses to security breaches, service interruptions, or other critical situations to reestablish systems functionality. Monitor, analyze, develop and implement response to problem trends. Recommend datacenter hardware and software to meet business needs. 40 hrs/wk, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. (Job #: 32436).
Requirements: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience. In lieu of a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, plus five years of post-baccalaureate progressively responsible experience. Experience must include: administration of Windows and Linux Servers and network environments; configuration and administration of F5 Load balancing devices; administration of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure applications, including Citrix Xendesktop and Xenapp; Server Virtualization Technology (VMWare); Microsoft IIS, FTP, and HTTPS; Storage Administration (EMC); Dell Server Hardware; Directory Services, including LDAP and Active Directory; Network Services, including DHCP and DNS; developing scripting packages; data flows within the financial/securities industry; developing big data applications with HDFS and Spark; developing report/queries that tie into Microsoft SQL database infrastructures; developing monitor tools for websites, applications and hardware infrastructure through the use of the ASP Dot net platform; constructing and troubleshooting XBRL/XML documents; PowerShell scripting and Cloud Computing (Azure); and business applications including MS Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
