Team is creating a central data warehouse for whole bank Taking information from 30+ systems used in different depts. and creating a data warehouse pulling al this information into an easy, searchable database. A lot of interaction with LOB's across bank including Technology side of business Data indexes, conformed names for the data, ETC. Understand how data warehouse works Will be addressing any problems that arise Will not be doing the work in the actual data warehouse, but more of the initial process of creating Confirms project requirements by studying user requirements; conferring with others on project team. Database Analyst would serve as the point of contact for requests ranging from moderate to very complex that are received daily. Conduct analysis of requests and provide consultative advice to the requestors to arrive at the most effective solution for delivering desired output by applying all available departmental tools. Maintains data dictionary by revising and entering definitions. Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations. Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions. Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintains user reference by writing and rewriting database descriptions. Identifies data sources constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process. Define and implement incorporated data standards. Formulate and recommend to management new and/or modified data policies Required Skills and Qualifications: Effectively apply any available tools (including, but not limited to, EasyTrieve, PowerSelect, SQL, MS Access, Monarch, File Manager and Visual Basic code) Analyzing & querying complex data using Access, SQL Server & Excel 3+ Ability to construct and use basic SQL statements 5 Yrs Data Warehouse workflow experience 3 Yrs DB knowledge, data warehouse and data mart 3 Yrs Speak/facilitate meetings with both business and technology teams, interacting with all levels within the bank Flexible to pick-up whatever needs to be done, regardless of task, to assist team in end goal Able to get to the core of business requirements Previous experience with larger projects, working with several LOB's at one time Previous project experience within Banking/FI's with different LOB's within the banking stream (Wealth, Commercial, Consumer, etc.) SQL Experience required - comfortable with data and SQL, as well as the logic behind it, does not need to code but does need to be comfortable to read/write, must be able to use queries within the database & able to pull results Understand and getting requirements for data warehouse team Candidate needs to be heavy on the data side, but also need to have business acumen because they will be gathering requirements.
