Our client in the East Bay is seeking a HANDS-ON IT Manager for an exciting opportunity with a growing company. The manager will manage the operation of all data centers, networks, telecommunications and related technologies and services. This position requires a mix of strategic IT planning and tactical execution skills. This position requires a proven track record in data center operations, network optimization, the design and implementation of scalable IT infrastructure and a solid understanding of how to leverage contemporary IT technologies. This position will require someone with exceptional customer service and communication skills. JOB DUTIES: Management Responsibilities: • Identify Strategic partners and grow those relationships (Hardware/service/software providers) • Manage, mentor and develop career paths for Infrastructure personnel in a cloud-based organization • Adhere to corporate policy and direction for security and SOX compliance. Organizational Responsibilities: • Act as the lead technical expert for IT Infrastructure, develop network and other hardware infrastructure to meet the on-going needs of the company in accordance with the IT strategic plan • Be the point person for infrastructure customer service escalations • Ability to communicate and initiate new technologies and ideas to all levels of business • Provide broad IT infrastructure leadership and expertise to organization • Reduce reliance on customized desktop environment – promote a self-service culture • Ensure the security of all intellectual property, resident on the network • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations related to IT infrastructure and compliance with SOX controls by all technical staff • Improve Bring-your-own-Device adoption and capabilities • Improve helpdesk adoption effectiveness through additional scripting, services, utilization • Improve collaboration and cloud adoption of current toolsets including box.com, SharePoint, and others Continuous Improvement Responsibilities: • Perform continuous improvement of our customer service, availability, and performance in regards to SLA and KPI creation • Manage/track a departmental budget, approve expenses, forecast spend and optimize year-to-year • Coordinate process Improvement across IT and business functions
