The specific tasks that the intern would be involved in include using various FTP and FTP-related software tools to migrate customers, both internal and external, from one product to another as well as establish reporting and tracking for each transmission. In addition, the intern would be involved in troubleshooting established transmission arrangements as issues are reported by customers. Direct customer contact is likely so good verbal and written communications skills are a must.
We would provide training for the tools to be used so no previous knowledge is required other than high-level concepts of a typical FTP process. This is a good opportunity for an intern to get very in-depth experience with solving a problem that likely exists in many other large companies.
The ideal candidate would have experience in both the Windows and Unix environments and have an interest in server administration as a career path. Programming or scripting experience is helpful but not required.
