Responsibilities: Effectively oversee and manage the Data Service Department. Maintain the operation of internal IT resources, including Active Directory, Exchange, Remote Desktop Services, SQL, File shares, backups, VPN's, and Routers. Maintain the operation of web server environment for in-house website and support portals. Troubleshoot and resolve any IT service issues, both internally and supporting clients. Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, software and networking issues. Ability to install, configure, optimize, fine-tune and monitor operating system software and servers. Perform high-level root cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measures. Assisting the technical support staff on solving common systems-related problems. Providing tier 2 and 3 support to entry level technicians Project Manage various technical business migrations Administers systems and servers related to various LAN and WAN (e.g. email systems, accounts, workstation ID, IP assignments, employee computers, security, antivirus, spyware, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of services both internally and for external clients. Designs network infrastructure (physical and virtual) for the purpose of ensuring effective and efficient networking systems. Maintains network operations and software applications (e.g. servers (file, print, application, WEB, database, proxy, etc.), operating systems, company-wide server backup, routine maintenance programs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring efficient operations. Manages servers and network resources including network applications for the purpose of delivering services in compliance with established guidelines and/or objectives. Participates in a variety of planning and development activities, including companywide committees for the purpose of creating short and long range plans for support to our client base. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department. Prepares written materials (e.g. procedures, system level documentation, reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information. Recommends equipment, software / hardware supplies and materials for the purpose of acquiring required items and completing jobs efficiently. Researches trends, products, equipment, tests, etc. for the purpose of recommending procedures and/or purchases. Participates in an On Call rotation with other technical staff to respond to 24x7 emergency requests. Responds to emergency situations as needed for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns. Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. staff, clients and outside vendors etc. ) for the purpose of providing technical assistance and support. Trains other staff (primarily within the technology area) for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing operating systems and application software.
