IT Senior Analyst, Supply Chain Data & Analytics

Johnson & Johnson is looking for an IT Senior Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the transformation and advancement of the Supply Chain IT Enterprise Data & Analytics capabilities. This role’s preferred location is in Cornelia or Athens, GA.

Role Overview:

The IT Senior Analyst will play a key role in building, implementing, and governing the Enterprise-level data ingestion, harmonization, reporting/visualization, and analytics aspects of our Supply Chain Data Analytics strategy. The IT Senior Analyst will collaborate with IT peers, Business Product Owners, IT Application Services and Global Technology Services to apply Enterprise technology and development capabilities to deliver solutions that rapidly meet business needs. Key technology capabilities include “Big Data”/Data Lake, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Analytics and Visualization, Predictive Modeling, and Machine Learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides technology leadership to develop data-centric solutions which meet the organizations’ information and analytics needs, while ensuring adherence and appropriate use of the J&J Enterprise Data & Analytics platforms and capabilities.
  • Provide technology leadership in data analysis and visualization to design solutions and deliver effective user-centric and intuitive analytics tools and dashboards.
  • Drives implementation and adoption of self-service analytics models and solutions.
  • Understands and effectively applies knowledge and experience in traditional and Big Data technologies and tools.
  • Supports Data Governance and remains engaged with cross functional teams to stay informed of the ways the organization uses data and understand its potential impact across projects.
  • Implements and maintains tools and capabilities in support of the Supply Chain Data Governance model (e.g. data assets inventory and heat-map, data needs prioritization and sequencing)
  • Contributes to and/or leads technology or data-centric proof-of-concept projects to seek out new innovative and advanced capabilities.
  • Partners with business product owners to define the IT needs and Agile user stories and works with Agile teams to deliver solutions utilizing an Agile delivery model.
  • Maps out complex business processes to serve as reference for development of analytics solutions and advocates for business processes implication where appropriate to deliver robust and cost effective solutions.
  • Tracks progress of the solution development projects and reports to the business partners on status on the delivery of features, functionality and applications.
  • Co-ordinates work streams, activities and initiatives as needed.
  • Ensures compliance requirements are met, oversees documentation activities and participates in compliance activities as required
  • Partners with Application Services to execute projects and deliver capabilities.

  • A Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of data and analytics experience interacting with business users is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in select Big Data and/or traditional data and analytics technologies is required
    (e.g. Orace/SQL Server/RDBMS, Hadoop, Hive, Sqoop, Talend, AWS Redshift/S3/EMR, Cognos BI, R, Tableau and Qlik toolset or similar.)
  • A strong business acumen and aptitude for empirical research to answer challenging questions with data is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with business partners to translate business needs and deliver analytics solutions is required.
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner is required.
  • Proven experience deploying business analytics tools, business intelligence, and visualization solutions in direct support of business functions is required.
  • Demonstrated applied knowledge of Tableau, Cognos BI, Qlik, Talend, Hadoop, or equivalent analytics tool to deliver insights with positive business impact is required.
  • Demonstrated working experience with advanced analytics, statistical analysis and predictive modelling is desired.
  • Agile experience is preferred.  
  • Experience working with external software vendors is desired
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills required.
  • Must be able to solve complex business problems and present recommendations to management effectively
  • Must have good planning, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Results driven, quick learner, and a self-starter required.
    Experience in the healthcare and manufacturing sector is preferred.
  • Knowledge of supply chain is desired.
  • The position will be based in Somerville, NJ and may require up to 10% domestic travel.
