As a member of the Global Technology Solutions (GTS) Architecture team, this position will work with service owners and the business to coordinate and drive large-scale projects across multiple IT domains and services. Responsible for fielding business asks and assessing existing IT services, this role will play a major part in developing a unified roadmap for IT through assessment of current technologies, risks posed to the business, and upcoming needs of LinkedIn staff. The ideal candidate is a generalist who has experience working across diverse technical areas within enterprise IT. In partnership with the service owners in GTS, they will shepherd the roadmap and strategy for LinkedIn that allows the department to deliver innovative technology solutions that support and enable employee productivity anywhere, anytime on any device...easily.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with business and technical leaders across LinkedIn Partner with the business and the GTS service delivery teams to merge business requirements with existing services, designing solutions across those services Develop technology strategy for cross-functional solutions, including capability assessments and collaboration with domain architects on selection, integration planning, end-state planning, and the overall technical roadmap for the department Visualize and articulate "solutions" as more than a sum of the parts, seeing through the gaps in current capabilities and providing recommendations to close those gaps Create and propose architecture and technical designs for new solutions and services, leveraging the domain architects for domain-specific knowledge and design Analyze the health and relevance of existing internal services to drive the development of new services and feature enhancements to existing ones Partner with the Business Engagement team to deliver against the rising needs of the business Actively investigate industry trends and use that knowledge to inform improvements to IT services Take part in the creation and governance of an architectural practice for IT Work with service owners and domain architects to lead new initiatives and create services to fill needs, in addition to feature enhancements and new capabilities to existing services Proactively work towards identifying technology risks to IT and the company and propose holistic solutions for mitigating those risks Propose and act as a technical lead on cross-domain projects Lead the creation of business cases for key projects in collaboration with service owners and domain architects Secure sponsorship for large initiatives from senior management Analyze trends in operational metrics to propose changes and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
Basic Qualifications: 8+ years experience working in enterprise or corporate IT 2+ years leading projects for multiple technical domains 5+ years of experience as technical contributor in systems, network, application engineering or operations environment 2+ years leading enterprise-wide solutions and projects within a corporate environment Experience architecting systems, applications, and/or network solutions in a large enterprise environment B. . /B. . in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years in an IT Solutions or Enterprise Architect role at a medium-to-large company Demonstrated experience with the architecture and design of two or more of the following: datacenter compute, end user compute, networking technologies, security, voice technologies, video and collaboration technologies, application development, application engineering, infrastructure applications, software engineering Hands-on technical experience combined with strong leadership and communication skills Demonstrated expertise in recruiting and leading a team of bright, experienced engineers on large scale projects
