Java/Android (Jr. Level) job inIrvine,CAis available courtesy of Adecco Engineering and Technical. The successful candidate will be a part of a Development team to spearhead the design and implementation of company's In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) product suite. The ideal candidate must be proficient in developing complex JAVA and C/C++ applications on Linux and/or Android Platforms. This is a contract to job opportunity and the hourly pay rate depends on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and test the software components that make up the IFEC distributed system
Define interfaces/APIs between software components
Analyze and allocate system requirements and design to the software components
Be able to work in an AGILE/SAFe environment for projects and will be part of scrum team to implement the respective user stories
Interact with Product Owners, Architectures, and Program Management teams to define and develop generic software interfaces
Work with IVV, and SI teams to debug problems found during integration/IVV testing activities as well as issues reported from the field
Be organized, able to take instructions, work in a time sensitive environment, and be able to solve complex problems independently or/and under limited supervision.
Must be fluent in Java, C/C++ and familiar with open source technologies
Very good understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts and design patterns, and abstraction methodology
Experience working in Android and/or Unix/Linux environments
Experience in designing and creating software applications, libraries, APIs, and tools
Knowledge of SW development life cycle using AGILE methodology
Knowledge of networking protocols
Experience with design and implementation of Android frameworks and applications in Java is a plus
Knowledge of Test Driven Development, mockito framework, JUNIT testing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self -motivated, critical thinker with strong technical background
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree and 3-5 years of work experience; Master's Degree and about 2 years of experience.
