We are looking for a Healthcare Solutions Design Associate to join our team in New York City, NY.

  • Relevant job experience in design strategy, content development and/or program management.
  • Champion of patient-centered design approaches and solutions from initial strategy through to implementation.

What is the position?

  • Part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team, the J&J Design associate contributes to strategy and product development work streams from early phase and user needs identification through to implementation and launch.
  • Helps develop scopes of work and supports productive business partner relationships
  • Supports J&J Design Healthcare Solutions team in execution of diverse brand experience, innovation and product development programs
What will you do?
  • Manage multiple projects with critical deadlines.
  • Drive innovation and deliver differentiated, holistic solutions that improve health and wellbeing.
  • Coordinate user research and the identification and synthesis of user needs into design opportunities and frameworks.
  • Provide human factors/usability guidance in collaboration with our industrial design team to support design development.
  • Contribute to the improvement of design processes, including supporting documentation, guidance materials, SOPs and editing documents.
  • Work effectively within Johnson & Johnson design control, regulatory and compliance practices.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Design Strategy or Product Design is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in strategy, content development or program management.
  • Interest in designing healthcare products and solutions that drive behavior change.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to support the development of visual/verbal narratives using a combination of tools, including Microsoft Office software and Adobe Creative Suite, for strategic presentations, scopes of work and team inspiration
  • Ability to distill and simplify complex information.
  • Experience contributing to successful medical devices or consumer products launches to global markets a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
