Current Need
The Software Engineer works in a collaborative team development environment to perform analysis, design, development, and unit / integration testing on the EnterpriseRx pharmacy system.  As a member of the EnterpriseRx development team you will affect change to critical software components of EnterpriseRx, a system that spans a wide array of functionality and technology with a large and active user base.  You will be empowered to explore and develop new skills and expertise.  You will leverage advanced software engineering techniques and practices in a collaborative team to grow and succeed. You will have opportunities to participate in a variety of engagements, including sustaining engineering development, major release development and internal initiative development.  You will have the opportunity to contribute to building a great culture with a talented group of software engineers.  You will be inspired to achieve great things that are enriching and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to meeting the needs of customers by translating those needs into working software
  • Improving the craft of software engineering at MPS by appropriately challenging the status quo
  • Leading projects through to completion demonstrating competence in words and action
  • Participating  in technical design and code reviews with internal and external customers
  • Remediating defects by solving the reported problem and thoroughly testing to ensure the issue has been solved while leaving the surrounding code in a better state than you found it
  • Developing and executing unit and integration tests
  • Actively participating on cross-functional teams that may include Architects, Developers, Q/A, and Product Management, Project Management, and Operations personnel
  • Participating in all phases of the project life-cycle from inception to implementation
  • Working with our support organization to make them more effective at solving customer issues

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
2+ years experience in software engineering

Critical Skills

  • 2+ years of experience developing and designing software applications, including internships
  • Experience with Java / Object-Oriented software engineering
  • Experience with relational databases (such as Oracle) and Structured Query Language (SQL)

  • Able to develop and contribute in a fun, fast-paced team environment
  • Energetic and passionate self-starter that brings interpersonal skills and creative problem solving to the team
  • Questions the status quo and actively participates in contributing to the organization.
  • Ability to learn and implement new technologies and processes
  • Hunger for knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
