The Junior Instructional Designer is charged with providing consulting services and conducting analysis for developing learning solutions, as well as prescribing, designing and developing them. Junior Instructional Designer serves as the key connection point between the Learning & Performance Solutions team, (i.e., Learning Consultant, Measurement Consultant and Instructional Tech Designer) and business partners during learning solution analysis, design, and development. The Junior Instructional Designer is responsible for determining the learning solution and components, based on business need, which address knowledge/performance gaps of the target audience.
Junior Instructional Designer primary role is to analyze, prescribe, and design appropriate learning solutions employing instructional technologies and modalities including but not restricted to Web Based Training (WBT), Instructor Led Learning (ILT) (virtual and classroom), Electronic Performance Support (EPS) (on-line and paper-based references), and video. The Junior Instructional Designer, working with the Measurement Consultant, develops evaluation criteria items that measure the effectiveness of each learning solution and the impact on the organization of learning solutions. The Junior Instructional Designer assists the Learning Solutions management team in driving increased efficiencies in learning solution development. This Junior Instructional Designer will support Global Learning in its drive to become the most admired Learning organization in the world.
Junior Instructional Designer Requirements
3 years experience designing, developing, and implementing training programs
3 years of training and curriculum development experience in multiple delivery methods (ILT, WBT, structured writing practices, etc.).
Bachelor's Degree in Instruction Design discipline preferred. Candidates with no previous work experience will only be considered if they hold a Bachelor's Degree in Instruction Design.
Demonstrated experience in application interface design (not limited to web sites)
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, Axure and Microsoft Office
Strong presentation and communication skills
Ability to work quickly and accurately
Attention to detail, self-starter
Basic understanding of responsive design principles
Junior Instructional Designer Desired Attributes
Candidates with prior experience in designing for an Agile process will be strongly preferred
Note: Must be prepared to provide references and share work samples.
Depending on the number and nature of samples provided, may be asked to solve a sample design problem.
