Adecco Medical & Science is hiring a full-time Lab Operations Manager to support a new, state of the art laboratory in San Diego, CA. This lab is slated to test over 4 million samples annually. Reporting into the Director of Laboratory Operations, this position will provide day-to-day management of the Charlotte Testing Laboratory (CTL) as well as leadership for technical personnel. You will plan, organize, and direct the daily activities of the department through area supervisors.
Lab Operations Manager Responsibilities include:
Initiate the hiring of technical staff, prepare performance reviews, provide coaching and guidance to staff in achieving strategic objectives, goals and core values.
Set direction and allocate resources to assure that the laboratory meets the production requirements while maintaining a quality level that meets regulatory requirements.
Assure all facets of people, equipment, documentation and procedures are compliant to all required regulatory agencies.
Organize and prioritize workloads and assignments of staff in conjunction with donor center, Product Management and Sales requirements.
Review test results for accuracy, completeness and compliance to requirements and release test data.
Review documentation and records related to the preparation, storage, vialing, and distribution of immunogen cells.
Maintain quality assurance programs including proficiency testing, laboratory accreditation, licensing and registration.
Act as a host and/or participate in audits/inspections of the CTL by customers, internal auditors and external regulatory bodies.
Develop programs to improve laboratory efficiency and reduce costs
Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
2+ years' of laboratory training or experience, or both in high complexity testing.
Must qualify as Technical Supervisor in accordance with federal regulations 493.1449
3-5 years directly related experience.
2+ years' supervisory/managerial experience.
Ability to schedule and plan workloads, implement systems and projects that align with strategic objectives of the company.
Demonstrated experience working in a highly regulated environment.
Understanding of regulatory compliance and basic quality systems under CLIA, GMP ISO, or related standards.
On call rotation required as well as willingness to work diverse shifts and overtime as required.
