Adecco, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of professionals is currently seeking a LAB TECHICIAN for our premier client, a leading Business and Technology Services Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri

Duration: One-year contract
Schedule: 2nd & 3rd shift variable

Requires working a variety of shifts that include working weekends and holidays.
Position will be on either the night shift or evening shifts working 10-hour shifts, 4 days/week or day
shift working 8 hour shifts 5 days/week.
The 3 shifts are 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m., 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., and 2:00 -10:30 p.m. The 10-hour shifts work 4 days per week. It will be a single shift with opportunities to work overtime occasionally. Training will be from 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. for 6-8 weeks.

Position Description-Laboratory Analyst

Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of agricultural products or processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving practical application of chemistry and related sciences.
Performs routine testing on all samples in the Quality Assurance laboratory, providing analytical data for process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management. Major task and responsibilities of position Performs routine analytical testing on teams that work a variety of shifts.
Requests additional work to increase team productivity.
Prepares and analyzes numerous types of samples by a variety of physical and chemical analytical techniques using sophisticated analytical equipment. The instrumentation includes pH meters, densitometers, conductivity meters, titrators, viscometers, rheometers, auto-titrators, laser particle size analyzers, auto-claves, pipettors GC, HPLC, IC, ICP, and Karl Fischer.
Understands and operates STARLiMS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and other instrument-specific software systems.
Searches various databases for test methods and specifications to locate information required to complete analyses.
Promptly and accurately records, calculates and reports analytical results.
Maintains appropriate records to meet internal requirements as well as, ISO 9001, 14001, and 18001. Observes good safety and housekeeping practices.
Maintains laboratory supplies, prepares solutions, cleans glassware, prepares glassware for autoclaving, disposes of solid/liquid waste and other duties to help in the overall operations of the laboratory.
Follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledgeable of RCRA hazardous waste regulations, waste determinations, waste codes, and how to immediately communicate discovery of spills and leaks.
Must know labeling, inspection, and recordkeeping requirements to accumulate waste in: satellite accumulation areas, less than 90-day containers, and less than 90-day tanks.
Initial RCRA hazardous waste training shall be completed within 6 months of starting job, and refresher training shall occur annually thereafter, per 40 •265.16.


• High school diploma which includes chemistry, algebra and some work experience or 10 - 20 hours of college chemistry and college algebra with laboratory experience or a BS degree in a science discipline and laboratory experience.

Potential Hazards:
This is an agricultural chemical production site. This position may work in environments containing any/all of the nine categories of GHS hazards.
